Eden was named in the hopes that the Revolutionary War veterans it was chartered to would find it to be like it's biblical namesake. It is located on the Northern border of Lamoille County and includes several mountains and lakes. Eden is a sparsely populated town with some good views to the south from many locations. Eden is about equidistant from three ski resorts (Jay Peak, Smugglers Notch, and Mt. Mansfield in Stowe).
Lake Eden is a popular summer resort destination and is one of the two lakes in the county popular with motor boat enthusiasts (Lake Elmore is the other).
