Hyde Park is the county seat.   It is a mostly rural town with views of the surrounding mountains from many locations. The Green River Reservoir in the Northeast corner of town is the largest lake in Vermont which does not allow motorized craft.  The Village of Hyde Park has the Lamoille County courthouse as well as the Hyde Park Opera House which is where concerts and plays are presented throughout the year. 

Lanpher Memorial Library in Hyde Park Village has undergone a major renovation and enlargement.  Several other historic buildings in the village have also been renovated in recent years.
